Jennifer Mayo
Oklahoma County Commissioner - District 3
Rooted in Oklahoma.
Make the math work. Over $500M has been committed without a secured funding source. I will reevaluate the current budget and spending priorities.
Get back to core county responsibilities.
Roads, bridges, drainage, and infrastructure planning matter. District 3 is growing quickly, and the county needs to stay focused on the basics instead of constantly being pulled into preventable financial strain.Fix the system, not just the jail. We can’t ignore the problems. We have to move cases faster, support mental health, and properly fund staff and operations the right way.
Keep communication open. I’ll be accessible, communicate clearly, and make sure residents have opportunities to ask questions and stay informed.
If it’s working, prove it. I will publish clear, regular updates on costs, jail performance, and outcomes.
About Jennifer Mayo
Jennifer Mayo is a fifth-generation Oklahoman who has spent the last decade working in the nonprofit sector on access to essential resources and community programs.
She has built her career inside complex systems that rely on public funding, private investment, and cross-sector coordination. Her experience includes helping launch food and resource centers at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, working in Washington, D.C. at the Capital Area Food Bank, and serving in roles with United Way of Central Oklahoma and in Canadian County. Through this work, she continues to focus on areas where funding and policy decisions directly shape outcomes for entire communities, and as a lifelong Democrat, she believes government should be effective, accountable, and transparent about how public dollars are spent.

Jennifer is a former AmeriCorps member. She was selected as a University Innovation Fellows fellow, a student leadership program housed at Stanford University, where she presented her work at Stanford University and Google, and is an alum of the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University. She won the Tulsa Startup Series, spoke at TEDx OSU, was recognized in Oklahoma Magazine’s 30 Under 30, and helped launch PeriodOKC as a founding board member.
She lives in Edmond on a small farm with her husband, Patrick Searcey, and their two daughters.
Jennifer is running for Oklahoma County Commissioner to bring greater clarity and accountability to county decision-making. She believes the county should be able to explain what it’s doing, what it will cost, and how it will work before asking the public to support it.
This campaign is funded by individuals who believe thoughtful leadership matters.
